Photos are taken of the mysterious corrosive effect on the canisters and several histories of these forgotten souls are revealed in this unique tale.
 
Library of Dust — an artful depiction of copper canisters containing the cremated remains of individual patients from the Oregon State Insane Asylum, a state-run psychiatric hospital, who died there between 1883 and the 1970s, their bodies never claimed by their families.

Maisel photographed many of the 3,500 canisters with incredible detail, their multicolor blooming corrosion reminiscent of nature’s wonders like vibrant sunset skies or rich bedrock textures or the aurora borealis.  
 

  

Patient Arrested On Suspicion of Assaulting A Nurse at Napa State Hospital-Register Staff

A patient was arrested Sunday night in connection with an assault against a registered nurse Sunday evening at Napa State Hospital, according to a hospital representative.

The alleged assault was reported at 6:50 p.m. when the nurse activated her identification alarm, said Ralph Montaño, spokesman for the Department of State Hospitals which operates that state psychiatric facility. The patient was arrested, Montaño said.

The department would not disclose the patient’s name. However, the Napa County jail logs indicate Napa State Hospital police on Sunday night transported to the jail Kevin Long, a 38-year-old resident of the hospital’s Q5/6 unit. Long was booked at 11:47 p.m. Sunday, according to the jail logs...

Does anyone know anyone who the US Government drove crazy? The Oregon State Hospital (Yes, where "One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest" took place) is honoring the Past - There is a list of "Unclaimed Cremains." At our facilities in Oregon, you will be comfortably positioned on the table and fitted with a wrap-arounds.

There are padded cells, electro-shock tables, Draconian restraint devices with leather ... Say the words “lunatic asylum” and many people will get scolded. ... Don't worry if "patients" are savagely beating each other with anything they can get their hands on, no one will believe you if you complain.

You can never differentiate between the doctors and the "patients." Yes, they still have big burly men  who resemble ordinary dufus.

Ordinary citizens can be warehoused in mental institutions. It doesn't take much. If you are a troublemaker or someone compelled to tell the truth, you are considered weak and unable to care for yourself.

Staff from Oregon State Hospital-Portland (POSH) are using a relatively new approach to treatment known as "Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)" in which acceptance is the catalyst for positive change. It is a diabolical concept (hence the name) for mind control techniques.  Using coercive treatment, the "patient" admits to his/her wrong doing and accepts responsibility for their actions.  Many law enforcement officers, agents, and judges have warehoused "perpetrators" when done robbing and using them.
